Day Report

Day report options

The standard controls user/computer, date range selectors, chart type etc. apply to this report. Click here for information on how to use these controls. There are some specific configuration controls that only appear when this report is selected.

Average, total, max, min

The selections from this dropdown are applicable when your day report's date range covers more than a week. In this scenario you will have data available for more than one weekday. As an example lets assume you have selected a date range that includes three Fridays.

The default value of "average over date range" shows the average usage for all the Fridays that fall within the selected range. In this case the results should always show less than or equal to 60 minutes per hour.

If you select "total over date range" then the graph will show the total time for all given Fridays within the date range. This can lead to graphs that could be misinterpreted especially if your range covers say three Fridays but only two Saturdays. Your results may also show more than 60 minutes per hour which could be confusing.

The maximum and minimum selections just show the Friday with the highest active usage or the least active usage. Since each result will only choose one day in the range, your graph will always show less than or equal to 60 minutes per hour. The graph does not show the actual dates of the days that contain the maximum or minimum values.

Day selectors

Tick or un-tick the appropriate day selectors to include or exclude days from your report.

Show days separately

This option allows you to configure how many separate traces the graph will display.

If you choose "average of selected days" the graph will show an average value of all the selected weekdays. This may be useful if you just want to look at weekend usage, then just select Saturday and Sunday and allow the report to display the average.

If you choose "each day separately" then the graph will display a separate coloured trace for each day you have selected. This may be useful if you want to compare usage over different days of the week.

If you choose "separate days & average" the graph will show a trace for each selected day plus a trace showing the average of all selected days.
